Dave Jepson, Jim Bradley and ACE CT named CI Annual Award Honorees

On Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at its 33rd Annual Membership and Awards Dinner, the Construction Institute will recognize David G. Jepson, FAIA, James P. Bradley and the ACE Mentor Program of Connecticut with the organization’s highest honors.


 James P. Bradley

The Institute’s Distinguished Achievement Award for “outstanding contributions to the construction industry” will be presented to James P. Bradley, Dirictor of Design and Construction Services, University of Connecticut. Bradley has enjoyed a varied and successful career in the private construction sector and has been involved with a number of high profile public projects including management of the "Learning Corridor" an planning for City of Hartford's $1.1 billion school reconstruction program. In 2006 Bradley was brought in to restructure the management, reporting and control of the University of Connecticut's construction programs.

 David G. Jepson, FAIA 

David G. Jepson, FAIA, will receive the Distinguished Service Award "in recognition for his dedicated and outstanding service to the Construction Institute, University of Hartford. Jepson joined JCJ after leaving the Navy in 1968 and has been a partner since 1975. He has been an integral part of the Institute for many years having served as Program and EXPO Chair, Chairman of the Board of Directors and currently as Chairman of the Board of Advisors.


 ACE Mentor Program of Connecticut

The ACE Mentor Program of Connecticut will be presented with the Institute's first ever Special Industry Recognition Award to recognize  “significant and outstanding contributions to the construction industry and the greater state community”. ACE CT has had a profound effect on the future of the workforce in the A/E/C industry by providing career direction for high school students interested in architecture, construction and engineering.

Each year the Construction Institute, at the University of Hartford recognizes individuals who embody the highest level of professionalism in serving the construction industry in the State of Connecticut. Recipients are selected based on their personal achievements, for their impact on the Construction Institute and the construction industry, as well as their contributions to the larger community.

The Nominee:

  • Exhibits business acumen and exemplary community leadership
  • Has made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of the construction industry
  • Supports and promotes the efforts of the Construction Institute, University of Hartford
  • Has enhanced the image of Connecticut’s construction industry through his/her professional accomplishments

The Construction Institute’s  33rd Annual Membership and Awards Dinner takes place at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville, CT on Wednesday, June 18, 2008. The evening begins with cocktails and networking at 5:30 PM with Dinner and Awards following at 7:00 PM
