Who We Are
The Construction Institute is a leading network and a neutral forum for exchanging new ideas, knowledge, and opportunities while creating stronger collaborative relationships among architects, engineers, constructors, owners and other industry stakeholders. Our mission is to promote cross-industry collaboration.
What Do the 2023 Visionaries Have to Say?
Hear from the 2023 Visionaries as they discuss why the industry should embrace failure, and the unexpected opportunities that arise when a project does not go as planned.
Join us Thursday, February 16, 2023, at the Mark Twain House & Museum to learn from our 2023 Visionaries about their experiences with innovations that did not quite make it to the "Success" column and how failure led to future innovation.

In-Person Professional Education is Back!
In-person learning is back! CI is excited to announce the first of several in-person courses this year.
Join us on February 28th from 8:00am-4:00pm with David Jacobs, PhD, PE to learn about Moveable Bridge Engineering. This workshop will be held at CI Headquarters, 1137 Main Street, Suite 205, East Hartford, CT.
David Jacobs will also be instructing the Railroad Bridge Engineering workshop on March 15 & 16 from 8:00am-4:00pm in East Hartford. Both workshops are offered in-person and streamed live!
Double the Value! Did you know that in addition to credit for CI certificate programs, CI courses provide AIA LU's? Appropriate AIA approved courses (like the bridge engineering courses) also provide continuing education credits for the NY Professional Engineering and Land Surveying. CI is also a CCM Recertification Points Provider for CMAA. Learn more.

The Construction Institute in 2023
I asked CI's Board of Director's to share an image of their vision of the Construction Institute. The collage of images above captures the essence of CI and its members. We are future focused, agile, and collaborative. We are relationship builders. We are thought leaders who have created and are growing our knowledge hub with a shared goal of elevating the industry.
The Board of Directors and the CI staff have accomplished a lot since June of 2020. We created an independent 501(c)(3); we moved our offices; we expanded our online offerings of classes and webinars; we created our own platform for online events; and we continued to expand and diversify our membership. During this period, we had professional education students and attendees from 24 states and from 9 countries outside the United States. |
We are poised for growth in 2023. With the expert guidance of our Education Committee, we will be expanding our course offerings and adding to our certificate programs. Look for the return of in-person classes. Our Owners' Forum programs will be back in an enriched format. And our popular programs and social events will continue.
As always, our best ideas come from you. Follow your passion by becoming an instructor. Join the planning committee for one of our signature programs. Help us grow our membership. Create content. Reach out to me at ngreenwald@construction.org. - Nancy Greenwald, Executive Director
